Can style and practicality
come with sustainability?
PLEATSMAMA utilizes eco-friendly materials and modern knitting techniques to make its bags and accessories, seeking fashion that definitively pioneers a sustainable life in a practical way.
PLEATSMAMA packages its products to leave the smallest possible environmental footprint. Using INOAC’s self-adhesive shock-absorbing packaging, we substitute both the conventional plastic wrapping and delivery box with just one sheet, minimizing waste.
For the first time in Korea, PLEATSMAMA has signed MOUs with Hyosung TNC and Jeju Island. In particular, it succeeded in commercializing the world's first 100%-cycle spandex.
*Regency Jeju: Korea's first 100% Jeju waste plastic bottle recycling polyester
*Creora regen: World's First 100% Recycle Spandex
All PLEATSMAMA bags are knitted. Instead of sewing together cut pieces of fabric, the products are deliberately sculpted out of the material. This allows us to eliminate scraps and waste from our manufacturing process.
PLEATSMAMA’s patent-pending pleat design does not come from heat or chemical treatment, instead being structurally imbedded into the architecture of the bag. Thanks to this, neither time nor the washing machine will flatten the pleats anytime soon.
Like knitting a handcrafted sweater, PLEATS MAMA boasts impeccable finishing with beautifully detailed linking and meticulous hand sewing.
Recycle
The sort of plastic used in plastic bottles take over a century to naturally decompose.
PLEATSMAMA uses Regen, a recycled polyester fabric produced by internationally renowned synthetic fiber manufacturer Hyosung. Regen significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions and waste disposal by extracting and reusing components of disposed plastic bottles, resulting in a net saving in petroleum resources.
